Homeward bound

Hello world! Long time, no see.
Sorry about that.

The last year or so for me in terms of blogging has been a bit of a love-hate relationship because of finishing my last year at university and graduating; and working ridiculous hours with two jobs. But things are about to change.

I've come to a very big decision that I've been thinking about for a while now. This last year has been very stressful and I'm finally putting myself first for once.
I will be moving home as of the end of the month!

It's finally the answer I've been searching for, for so long. Don't get me wrong, I love Bath and everything that it has to offer. It's such a beautiful city, full of history (attracting all of the emmets!) and some people love living here. For me, I think I'm done living in the city for the moment. I have really enjoyed myself here and having an extra year after university to test out 'real life' has been fun, but stressful too.

One of the downsides about living in Bath is the cost of not only the rent, but also the council tax too. It's gotten to the point where working two part-time jobs isn't cutting it anymore and I need a break (and so does my bank account!) I think I will miss the city and the convenience of everything but my heart belongs by the seaside.

As much as I'm excited to move home, I'm also a bit anxious about losing some of my independance that I've gained since being away. As long as I have these two lovely ladies (featured in the photos throughout) in my life still, I'm hoping it won't be much different; and it also gives me the chance to start doing driving lessons again.

Recently I took a trip home to Cornwall and got to spend a day in Helford village on the Lizard with Sarah and Alex. Helford is one of the most beautiful places I swear that I've ever been to! It's so quiet and idyllic, I would never have known about it if it weren't for Sarah. It's one of those places that you stumble across and don't even realise it's there - a good place for hiding away from the emmets.

Although I'm from Cornwall and the Lizard Peninsula isn't that far from where I live, it's not somewhere that I've really explored, so I'm putting it on my bucket list and making sure that Sarah and Alex are my tourguides.

Initially, I had just planned on meeting Alex for the day, but when I told Sarah I was visiting home, she came on the train with me and we surprised Alex - and luckily, she didn't suspect a thing!

We spent the day walking round the local villages of Coverack and Helford whilst catching up on each other's lives and then heading to Roskilly's in St Keverne for some local ice-cream.
I'm so glad that I'll have these two to hang out with when I return home as they're both such great company and I'm sure we'll have some great adventures together.
Thank you very much to both Sarah and Alex who took the amazing photos featured in this post!
