A spare moment

If you couldn't already tell from the title of my blog post; life has been a bit hectic recently and I feel like I haven't had a lot of time to myself to chill out and relax. I'm making it a mission of mine to be as happy as I can be at the moment by taking time out and having some 'me' time. One of the ways I'm doing this is by trying to see my friends more often.

I say that, Sarah and I pretty much see each other at least once a week, although it's generally more than that. We had arranged to meet up for the day recently, starting off in one of our favourite coffee shops - The Forum Cafe. We chatted and caught up with each other but hadn't actually figured out what to do for the day and on a whim, London was where we were headed.

London isn't actually that far from Bath by train and it's probably also, one of the easiest to get to! Although I've been to London a fair few times now, I never fail in finding somewhere different to explore. This time, we headed to the Kensington & Chelsea area, trying to find a particular spot that we had come across before. Needless to say, we didn't find the spot we were looking for, but explored parts of Kensington we had never seen before, such as the main high street and stumbled across Notting Hill along the way.

I love to do things that are spontaneous, which I think is why I loved the idea of going to London for the day - it's not too far, but it's also great to go up and back in a day and not feel knackered. When I was younger and living at home, I used to travel with my friends a lot to Plymouth for a day trip of shopping and Shakeaway's so now, London in comparison, is nothing! Life at the moment is a bit hectic and this was just a nice way to spend the day with my best friend and even do a little bridesmaid inspiration shopping.

I don't think post-grad life is what I expected it to be and at the moment, it has caught up with me a little. I haven't been blogging as much and I keep trying to figure out what I want to do with my life. I'm also desperate to go home at the moment too - seeing lots of my friends photos from back home on facebook and instagram is making me miss everything about Cornwall, and I'm desperate to paddle in the sea and feel the sand between my toes. A must-needed trip is definitely on the cards soon - when I eventually get a spare moment, I'll definitely be on a train, heading over the Tamar.

There's all the time in the world to figure out what to do with my life (or so I'm told), but for the moment, I'm going to be searching for a new flat to move in to and counting down the days until I can catch that train back home.

What do you like to do with your spare time?
