Life's a beach

PRAA SANDS BEACH #5

I love the fact that on the beach at Praa Sands is a little bar/restaurant called the Sandbar, which gets crazy busy on sundays when they serve a carvery. It's such a lovely little beach, located at what feels like the end of the Earth. It does get a little busy though because of the emmets that stay in the surrounding holiday sites.

PORTHCURNO BEACH #4

Although I don't visit it as much as I should, it's still an amazing beach. In the summer, it looks like it could be abroad somewhere because of the lovely bluey-green colours in the sea. Also, if you happen to visit the Minack Theatre, which is around the corner, you get a lovely view of the bay.

PORTHMEOR BEACH #3

Over the summer, I spent a lot of time in St Ives, due to working, but I also spent a lot of time at this beach. It's right in the centre of the town (pretty much), and is also right next to the Tate Gallery if you fancy staying out of the sun for a little while. Also, if you head up to the island, you can also see the whole of St Ives, including this beach and possibly a bit of Hayle too.

GYLLYNGVASE BEACH #2

Another favourite of mine is Gylly beach. Pretty much every time I visit Falmouth, I go to Gylly Beach cafe and have a drink and some food, watching the surfers and sit in the sunshine. I also love it because it is right next to the town, so it's easily accessible.

MARAZION BEACH #1

Whenever I'm home and it's summer time, this is where you'll find me. It's the closest 'proper' beach to my town (unless you want to lay on pebbles all day!) and it has such an amazing view of St Michael's Mount. You can get to it by walking along the cycle path, all the way to Marazion village itself and even stop for a drink along the way at the Station House pub. This is my favourite beach and it's right down the road. You should definitely visit it if you haven't already.

Just wanted to say thanks to Anna at The Cornish Life for putting this link-up post together so I can get to know all of the other Cornish bloggers out there, and non-cornish too, of course. The links below are all of the other bloggers involved in this, sharing their favourite beaches in Cornwall.
