Pretend you're a Princess Part Two

So, now that Sarah has gone through and edited a few more of the photos, I can now put some more up of the shoot from a few days ago...

And a behind-the-scenes shot just for the road...

Liebster award!

I've been nominated for the Liebster award by Kayleigh from Frocks and Fairycakes - check out her blog, it's really lovely! I'll be answering 11 questions set out by Kayleigh. The Liebster award rules and how it works are as follows...
> Tell 11 random facts about yourself
> Answer 11 questions from the blogger that nominated you
> Choose 11 bloggers with 300 followers or less
> Create 11 questions for your chosen bloggers
> Make sure to let them know you have nominated them
> Don't tag the person that tagged you

11 Random facts about myself:

1. I'm very scared of heights, like unbelievably so. It's gets to the point where I won't even travel in a glass elevator because it's too high a drop for me - stupid, I know.
2. I'm from a little town, right at the end of the UK in Cornwall - approximately 12 miles from Land's End.
3. I have dyed my hair so many times in all different colours and shades, but luckily it's back to it's lovely brown colour now.
4. I've known my best friend since I was 4 and we still have a strong friendship, 16 years strong, going on 17!
5. I have 9 piercings on my body, hoping to get the 10th soon-ish.
6. I have a thing for the colour pink at the moment, even if I don't really want to admit it.
7. I'm a student currently studying BA (Hons) Graphic Communication at Bath Spa University.
8. I love Muse, Demi Lovato and Paramore - I'm off to see Paramore in a month's time and couldn't be more excited.
9. I have blue eyes, but occasionally they turn a greeny sort of colour.
10. I LOVE to eat and with that, comes baking too!
11. I'm an only child, so it can get pretty boring sometimes.

Kayleigh's questions for me:

1. Why did you decide to start to blogging?
I started blogging mainly because I wanted a visual diary of the things I get up to that I can refer back to when I get older. Also because I follow such blogs as Paige Joanna and Briar Rose and it looked like fun.
2. Where do you get your style inspiration?
Umm, I know it sounds sad, but my friends. I always look to them because they always have the latest styles on trend. I don't really keep up with magazines much, but like I said in the previous question, I follow a few blogs that keep me in the know.
3. Where are your favourite places to shop?
I love shopping at Topshop mainly. I also shop at H&M, Primark and mainly online at Miss Selfridge and Boohoo.com
4. If you could only ever use one make up product again, what would it be?
I know it sounds stupid, but probably only eyebrow pencils. My eyebrows are absolutely crazy without them being dolled up a little mainly due to my curly hair, resulting in curly eyebrows.
5. What do you do in your spare time?
In between working and university, I don't have a lot of spare time. I blog, obviously and hang around with my boyfriend and friends.
6. When you were little what did you want to be when you grew up?
I don't really know. Either a princess or a teacher I think...
7. What is your favourite season?
I really like winter as mad as it sounds because I love dressing up for the cold. But I like autumn too when all the leaves fall off the trees.
8. Do you prefer shopping online or going to the shops?
I prefer going to the shops because when you've bought something, you have the goods to show for it, whereas if you shop online, you have to wait a few days for it to arrive.
9. What are your favourite blogs?
I religiously follow Briar Rose and Paige Joanna as mentioned above. But I also follow Stephanie Dreams and Gilded Butterflies.
10. Do you prefer skirts/dresses or jeans/trousers?
I love both skirts and dresses mainly - it's all I ever wear, But if I had to pick one, it would probably be dresses.
11. What is your favourite fashion/make up era?
Umm probably the 1960's-80's. I love all the bold prints and patterns that they came up with and it's all coming back into fashion now.

Bloggers I'm tagging:

Nora Lilly - Hello You

11 Questions for Bloggers:

1. Name one blogger that you would recommend and why.
2. What is your favourite tv programme?
3. If you could be any celebrity you wanted, who would you be and why?
4. Rom-coms or Drama?
5. What is your favourite colour?
6. What is your favourite make-up product?
7. What phone do you currently own?
8. Do you have any hobbies?
9. What song is your guilty pleasure?
10. Do you have any pets?
11. If you had a blank bedroom to decorate, how would you decorate it?

Pretend you're a Princess!

I think this is my favourite photo out of the ones that Sarah has edited so far. I love the way she edits photos too because the photos always look older than they actually are, making them look really vintage!

DRESS MISS SELFRIDGE | SCARF H&M | NECKLACE CHRISTENING GIFT
So, here are a few sneak peeks of a photo shoot that I did with my good friend Sarah, her website is Sarah Porteus Photography - more are yet to come once the film camera photos have been developed. I knew she was coming up from Cornwall to move some of her stuff into the new house (we now live in a house together for university) and it was a great opportunity to take a few snaps to help keep my blog up and running, but also to doll myself up and parade around in this lovely 'princess dress' (or so I like to call it).

As the light was slowly disappearing, we decided to take the photos at our university campus! Would you believe it?! We were going to go to the Royal Crescent, but we thought that the uni campus would make a change and we just got there in time to take a few snaps before it got cold. If we had have gotten there earlier, we could have had more time playing around, but alas we couldn't and the photos still turned out well.

Is it Purple or Blue?

Here come the return of the silly faces...

I tried a different approach to this photo in Photoshop when editing the colours and such - I think it looks quite good!

DRESS TOPSHOP | CARDIGAN PRIMARK | NECKLACE ETSY | BELT PART OF A SET

It's been a while since my last fashion post, so I thought it was time I got back on track again. I picked up this lovely dress from Topshop yesterday even though I'm not meant to be buying anything right now. But I couldn't resist it, and seeing as it was in the sale at such a cheap price, I couldn't resist. Paired with a simple cardigan that I've had in my wardrobe for a few years now, it works well. A bright and colourful bag would also have looked great with this outfit, but I don't really want to feature the one I have currently because it's a bit old and needs a wash - I'm waiting for my student loan to go through before I purchase the satchel I want.

I still can't manage to pull a straight face as I'm having my photo taken! This is something that I really need to work on, especially if I want this blog to be successful - think I may have to get my boyfriend to help me practise and then find a permanent location to take the photos so that they all have the same aesthetics each time.

The weather has been a mix of sun and clouds here in Bath today, which isn't exactly unusual, so trying to pair an outfit to match the weather as well has proven difficult. Luckily as we were shooting today, I got the opportunity to take off my cardigan and show off my dress while the sun lasted. What has it been like where you are?

What's in my bag? A lot of things...

Sorry for not posting in a while but I've been travelling between Bath and Cornwall and haven't had a lot of time. For the mean time, here is a short-ish post about what's in my handbag!
As you can see, I carry a lot around with me! Some of it though is because I couldn't fit it in my suitcase for travelling home. But anyway, in the top photo I have:

PURSE - CATH KIDSTON - I've wanted a new purse for a while as my last one was falling apart and so, I treated myself whilst I had a bit of money. It may not have a lot of pockets, but I loved the design so much that I went and bought it anyway.
SUNGLASSES - H&M - Pretty standard really, not a lot to say about them. But they were really cheap! About £4 and considering I don't care for sunglasses that much, it was a bargain.
BAG - TOPSHOP - I bought this bag about a year ago and it's fair to say that I am in dire need of a new one. Perhaps when my student loan goes in?
GLASSES - SPECSAVERS - I don't have the best of eyes anymore and so these are a must-need for carrying around with me!
UMBRELLA - SPORTS DIRECT - Again, a must-need for my bag because whether I'm in Cornwall or Bath, you can never depend on the weather.
RIMMEL LIPSTICK - SUPERDRUG - Lipstick isn't something that I always carry around with me, but every now and again, I like to pop it out and brighten up my lips a bit. The colour isn't overly bright either, so a subtle pink means I can wear it to work and get away with it.
MOISTURISER C/O MY MUM - I got this small bottle of moisturiser in my stocking at Christmas and so again, this comes in handy every now and again.
STAEDTLER PENS - Every now and again, I'll carry a small sketchbook and some pens in my bag so that I can draw on the move!

A Grand Day Out!

Panoramic photos on my phone...

Ever so slight look of evilness here, oops.

Excuse the scrunched up face, it's the only face I know how to pull!

DRESS MISS SELFRIDGE | CARDIGAN H&M | BAG TOPSHOP | NAIL POLISH TOPSHOP

Today, I spent the day with my boyfriend as we both had the day off from work. We started at the Odeon and went to go and see Monsters University - because that doesn't make us sound like kids. Since seeing the first one and then seeing all of the trailers for the second one, I've wanted to go and see it. And seeing as it wasn't the best of days weather-wise either, it was the perfect opportunity. I must say, it was very good and I recommend going to see it!

We spent the rest of the day wondering around the shops and in the gardens next to Pulteney Bridge in Bath. We've always been past it whilst wondering around town and never really had the chance to go in and explore. We had a look round and settled down on a spot right next to the river where you can see the Weir (which is where a small bit of Les Mis was shot, did you know?!).

Whilst out shopping, I also managed to pick up these lovely nail polishes in Topshop. They were meant to be £6 each and it turns out they were even cheaper, plus the student discount too. We rounded off the day with a small meal in our local Wetherspoons and headed home.

What's on my wish list? Well...

At the moment, I seriously can't get enough of Miss Selfridge and Topshop - but I wouldn't dare to go in there right now, not after paying for my rent and internet and such. The life of a poor student... But anyway, I won't ramble on about that! I am obsessed with dresses, like obsessed. Pretty much any piece of clothing that I buy is a dress or a skirt. My whole wardrobe is pretty much filled with dresses, but yet I still feel the need to go and buy more.

The things that I've found here, I've been after for a while now. The Miss Selfridge dress on the right hand side is probably the thing I want the most right now. It's so nice and I can see it twirling with me as I spin around in happiness (I do that a lot when I've got/am trying on a new dress that I've just bought). The satchel that I found in Topshop would be great too! I used to have one, but only after a few uses, it decided to break. I suppose you get what you pay for, and I didn't exactly pay much for it. But it was so handy, just the right size and could fit everything in it that I had in my bag, which is a lot!

I'm also really into the colour red at the moment. I've never really owned a lot of red in my wardrobe until now. My favourite colour is purple and at one stage in my life, I was obsessed with it - so much so, that pretty much everyday, I would wear something that at least has a hint of purple in it. I say that whilst painting my nails purple...

The Paige Joanna headband I've also been after since I bought my blue one from her. The pink one would be a great addition to my wardrobe as I seem to have a lot of pink things and it would just fit perfectly!

What are you looking forward to buying on payday?
